Abroma augusta (L.) L. f.: An ethno pharmacological review of its traditional uses and modern applications

Abroma augusta (L.) L. f. has been used as traditional medicine by tribal women in India, Bangladesh forms ancient times. Ayurvedic medicine, derived from herbal plants is to reduce the gamble effects of synthetic drugs. In homeopathy, it using successfully for a long period. Major Phytochemicals such as, Taraxerol, Friedelin, β-Sitosterol, α-Amyrin, Lupeol, Octacosanol, have potentialities control diabetes, anti-inflammation, gynecological disorders etc. Root extract given fruitful effect menstrual disorder. It anti-fertility activity, and prominent uterine tonic. gonorrhea treatment, leaf stem cold water very effective. Acetone showed high anti-microbial against Gram-positive bacteria. Simultaneously, acetone extracts shown anti-fungal activity Candida albicans, Rhizopus oryzae, Aspergillus fumiguts. According various reports regarding its phytochemical profiling medicinal properties, can be said that should broadly future drug development programmed.
